Kyle Kirkwood’s Excitement Engine Fires Up at Cowboys’ Game
2 HOURS AGO
NTT INDYCAR SERIES star Kyle Kirkwood, the driver of the No. 27 Honda for Andretti Global, celebrated his 27th birthday in style by attending the Dallas Cowboys-Washington Commanders game Oct. 19 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as a special guest of the Cowboys.
Kirkwood (photo, above, with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones), who won a career-high three races in 2025, spent time with Cowboys’ fans in the Miller Lite House raising awareness and spreading enthusiasm for the inaugural INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington on Sunday, March 15. He also promoted the event through numerous media interviews and social media opportunities.
The birthday celebration was not Kirkwood’s first visit to AT&T Stadium, which is adjacent to the unique INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington circuit. The 2.73-mile temporary street circuit also winds around Globe Life Field and Choctaw Stadium, the current and former homes of the Texas Rangers baseball team.
"I came here when the stadium was finished; I think I was 10 or 11 years old,” Kirkwood said. “Coming full circle, getting down here on the field, feeling the energy seeing the fans – it's incredible. We cannot wait to come back here in March and race around these two amazing facilities.”
Kirkwood (photo, above) felt the energy of the fans while attending the game and is looking forward to that same vibe at the race in March.
"Sports is such a big thing in Dallas,” Kirkwood said. “We raced here a few years ago, out at Texas Motor Speedway, but to bring it to a central location like Arlington where sports are a mecca here is absolutely incredible."
There’s another reason Kirkwood looks forward to the inaugural INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington: He and Andretti Global are strong on street circuits. Kirkwood has earned four of his five career wins on temporary street courses.
"I'm a little bit biased,” Kirkwood said. “We've done really good on street courses. This will be a street course. This will be one of the number one tracks we're looking forward to for our team."
Even though the track is still being built, Andretti Global is doing everything it can to prepare for green flag Sunday, March 15.
"We do a lot of preparation,” Kirkwood said. “Even now the teams will come out here, scan the surface of the track. The areas that they know will be the same. They know where the walls will be. They get all of the dimensions.
“Then we will put it into a simulator, and I will actually drive it in a simulator. We're able to run through setup changes, whatever you want to do: downforce levels, gearing, and it will reflect directly to what we are doing on the track. So, we will be pretty much set up for this racetrack before we show up to it."
The INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington is fueled by a first-of-its-kind partnership between INDYCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and REV Entertainment, the official events partner of the Texas Rangers.
