Enzo Fittipaldi Happy To Help Arrow McLaren Dial In at Test

Enzo Fittipaldi strapped into NTT INDYCAR SERIES machinery for just the third time in his career Wednesday, Oct. 14.
He completed a full day of testing in the No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet during a private session at Sebring International Raceway (photo, above, courtesy @enzofitti Threads), joining full-time Arrow McLaren driver Nolan Siegel on the notoriously bumpy Florida road course.
Fittipaldi, the 24-year-old grandson of two-time Formula One World Champion, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner and 1989 INDYCAR SERIES champion Emerson Fittipaldi, embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm and focus.
“It was unbelievable,” Fittipaldi said. “We tested many different setups, and I did my best to give the most detailed feedback possible. It was a very productive day. We started at 8:30 in the morning and finished at 5:30 p.m. A lot of laps, a lot of data and a lot of test items were successfully evaluated.
“It was a very, very fun day.”
The session marked the second outing for Fittipaldi (photo, above, courtesy @enzofitti Threads) driving for Arrow McLaren, following a test with the team last November at The Thermal Club. His first taste of INDYCAR SERIES machinery came in October 2023, also at Sebring, with Dale Coyne Racing, where he shared the track with his older brother, Pietro Fittipaldi, who was testing with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
Those previous experiences accelerated his learning curve this time around.
“It was an amazing opportunity to test once again with McLaren,” Enzo Fittipaldi said. “It helped that I already knew the track, so we could get straight to work. I also already had my seat from the previous McLaren test, so everything was ready to go. That made it really a productive day as we were able to run through a lot of items and work efficiently. It’s always amazing to collaborate with a team like McLaren.”
The connection to McLaren runs deeper than just test opportunities for Fittipaldi. His grandfather delivered McLaren its first Formula One World Championship in 1974 and scored five wins across two seasons with the team.
“What my grandfather did with McLaren in the ‘70s was incredible,” he said. “Just to drive for a team with that kind of history, it’s unbelievable.”
While Fittipaldi isn’t in contention for a race seat with Arrow McLaren in 2026 as Siegel returns with Pato O’Ward and Christian Lundgaard as teammates, he continues to build his résumé for future opportunities within any global series.
Following the Sebring test, Fittipaldi flew to Portugal for the season finale of the 2025 European Le Mans Series: the 4 Hours of Portimão. He competed in the LMP2 category this season with CLX Motorsport. That campaign followed three seasons in FIA Formula 2, where he earned race victories in both 2023 and 2024. He’s also made two starts in Indy Pro 2000 with RP Motorsport during the 2021 Barber Motorsports Park doubleheader.
With substantial seat time in a variety of race cars, Fittipaldi approached the Sebring test with professionalism and purpose.
“The most important thing is being consistent,” he said. “You’re there to get a job done, and that’s why McLaren brought me in. They trust my feedback and know I can drive the car quickly and consistently.
“You have to be spot-on with your feedback, with what you’re feeling and communicate clearly. That’s something that really helps the team. There are very limited testing days, so you have to get the most out of every lap. My mindset was just don’t make mistakes, execute what they’re asking for and do it well.
“I’m just there to be the best possible driver and help the team.”
