Get to Know Alexander

Alexander Rossi will return for his 11th season in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and his second season with Ed Carpenter Racing in 2026. He will drive the No. 20 Chevrolet. The eight-time race winner has also collected seven poles and 30 podiums in 10 seasons.

Rossi moved to Europe at 17 years old to chase his dream of racing in Formula 1. He made five starts for the Manor Marussia team in 2015, becoming the third American driver to race in F1 since 1990. When he returned to the United States, he drove for Andretti Autosport, where he won the 2016 Indianapolis 500 on its 100th running – becoming the first rookie to win the Indy 500 since 2001 and the first American rookie to win since 1928. His racing background also includes wins in GP2 Series (now FIA F2) and World Series by Renault, and he has competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 at Daytona, Baja 1000 and Bathurst 1000.

Alex is married to his wife Kelly, and they welcomed their baby boy Benjamin in May 2025. He co-hosts the weekly podcast “Off Track with Hinch & Rossi” with James Hinchcliffe. He also competed in Season 30 of “The Amazing Race” with fellow driver Conor Daly as his teammate. Rossi enjoys skiing, dirt bikes, wakeboarding, cooking and cryptocurrency. He holds a private pilot license and frequently flies to race events. When not outdoors, he enjoys his bourbon collection, spending time with his two dogs or binge-watching TV shows.
