The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will host its Victory Lap, an event to celebrate the recently completed 2020 season, at 7:30 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 29.

The event, like many awards shows in 2020, is going “virtual” this year and will be hosted by NBC Sports motorsports analyst and INDYCAR driver James Hinchcliffe. Fans can watch live on INDYCAR.com and the INDYCAR Mobile App Powered by NTT DATA.

“It’s been a year of learning new things and trying new things, so hosting an awards show seemed like a 2020 thing for me to do,” said Hinchcliffe, who competed in six NTT INDYCAR SERIES events for Andretti Autosport in 2020. “It’s an honor to be hosting the INDYCAR Victory Lap, and though I asked if I could do a “Billy Crystal at the Oscars” opening, I was told due to COVID restrictions, I can’t have backup dancers. Still, it will be a fun night, and I hope it's entertaining for the fans watching at home.”

In addition to officially awarding traditional awards, including the Astor Challenge Cup to six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES Champion Scott Dixon and team owner Chip Ganassi, INDYCAR will also present several awards as decided by fan voting via social media.

The new awards honor some of the best moments of on-track action in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and elements from the popular INDYCAR iRacing Challenge - a series of virtual races that ran from the end of March through the first week of May when the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the start of the season.

“2020 is a year we will never forget, for many reasons,” said Mark Miles, president and CEO of Penske Entertainment Corp. “But completing a successful season and honoring the accomplishments of NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon and his Chip Ganassi Racing teammates needs to be commemorated, even if it’s only virtually. I hope INDYCAR fans join the rest of the paddock to celebrate Thursday night.”
