LEXINGTON, Ohio – Five-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon held off charging Chip Ganassi Racing rookie teammate Felix Rosenqvist on Sunday to win the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Dixon (No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda) edged Rosenqvist (No. 10 Clover Chip Ganassi Racing Honda) by 0.0934 of a second for the closest Indy car finish on this 13-turn, 2.258-mile permanent road course. It also was the third-closest finish on a road or street course in history.

The win for Dixon was his second of the season and 46th of his career. It also extended his series record of most career wins at Mid-Ohio to six. The finish for Rosenqvist was his first podium of the season, eclipsing his previous best finish of fourth on two occasions.
Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay (No. 28 DHL Honda) finished third, matching his season-best finish established at Circuit Of The Americas in March.
The race tightened the championship as leader Josef Newgarden (No. 2 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet) tangled with Hunter-Reay on the final lap and spun off course to finish 14th.
Alexander Rossi (No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda), who finished fifth, closed to 16 points of Newgarden. Simon Pagenaud (No. 22 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet), who was sixth, is now 47 points back and Dixon is 62 behind with four races remaining.
The NTT IndyCar Series will have a two-week break before returning to action Sunday, Aug. 18, for the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET. Radio coverage will be provided by the Advance Auto Parts INDYCAR Radio Network and SiriusXM Radio, Channel 209.
