PREMA Racing

Founded in 1983 by Angelo Rosin and Giorgio Piccolo, PREMA Racing has become a leading contender in junior single-seater racing. It is widely recognized as the third force in Italian motorsports, sitting just behind F1 teams Ferrari and RB Formula One Team (formerly AlphaTauri) in size, achievements and competition profile.

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is PREMA’s latest venture, joining a legacy of competition across Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4, where the team consistently excelled. PREMA has built a history of high-profile partnerships with multinational companies, automakers and F1 teams, including Honda, Toyota, Renault, Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull, as well as international-level partners such as the government of Macau, Japanese automotive retailer Autobacs and multinational tobacco company Camel.

PREMA takes pride in the success of its former drivers. Its dedication to young talent has produced F1 World Champion and Indy 500 winner Jacques Villeneuve and INDYCAR SERIES drivers such as Ryan Briscoe, Felix Rosenqvist, Marcus Armstrong and Callum Ilott. Throughout its journey, PREMA has experienced steady growth, winning 80 championship titles along the way. The team has also been home to nine of the 2024 Formula One drivers, including Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. Today, PREMA is the partner of choice for Formula One driver development programs.

For its INDYCAR program, PREMA Racing operates out of a state-of-the-art facility in Fishers, Indiana. In 2026, it returns its full driver lineup with Robert Shwartzman in the No. 83 and Callum Ilott in the No. 90. Shwartzman made headlines in his rookie season by claiming pole and Rookie of the Year honors for the 109th Indianapolis 500.
