JR Hildebrand is “coming home” to race in the 102nd Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced that Hildebrand will drive its second entry in the race on May 27. The 30-year-old from Sausalito, California, will pilot the No. 66 Chevrolet with sponsorship from global customer relationship management giant Salesforce.

Hildebrand, a veteran of 62 Verizon IndyCar Series starts, began his Indy car career with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in 2010. He drove for the team in two races that season (Mid-Ohio and Sonoma) before joining Panther Racing in 2011. In his Indianapolis 500 debut that year, he was leading the race when he crashed on the last turn of the last lap and finished second to Dan Wheldon.

Hildebrand will team with Sage Karam for Dreyer & Reinbold at this year’s “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Karam was previously announced to drive the team’s No. 24 WIX Filters Chevrolet.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has qualified 37 cars in past Indianapolis 500s, dating to its first attempt in 1999, and has recorded four top-10 finishes with a best of fourth in 2012. The Dreyer and Reinbold family has an impressive legacy at Indianapolis Motor Speedway dating to the 1920s with legendary car builder Floyd "Pop" Dreyer. Dreyer's grandson, Dennis Reinbold, is the team owner.
