Grand Prix Association of Long Beach officials unveiled a new logo for the 40th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 11-13, 2014, in conjunction with the start of its ticket renewal period.
From Aug. 19 through Oct. 4, fans can renew their same seats, IZOD IndyCar Paddock Access tickets and parking by visiting www.gplb.com or by calling the Grand Prix ticket office at (888) 82-SPEED. Tickets will go on sale to the public Oct. 18.
The logo, created by the Los Angeles-based Vessel Design Group, features a stylized Indy car flanked by an ocean wave and a palm tree, signifying the attributes of the Grand Prix’s 1.97-mile, 11-turn race course on the downtown streets of Long Beach, Calif.
“The new logo perfectly captures our themes of sun, fun and speed,” said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. “We are looking forward to putting on our biggest and best show yet for the race’s 40th running. The 2014 event will be a celebration of America’s No. 1 street race, both off the track and on.”
In April at Long Beach, Takuma Sato became the second of four first-time winners this season and gave A.J. Foyt Racing its first victory since 2002.
