INDYCAR's "Fast Six" is a report derived from all things found online about Verizon IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We seek and find pics and quips as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence into tweets, Instagrams and more. Check back regularly when we post the latest.

Bulldog madness

Ed Carpenter is well known for his support of Indianapolis sports teams, especially his alma mater, the Butler University Bulldogs.

It was no surprise when the the Verizon IndyCar Series' only owner/driver packed up his family and, in true March Madness fashion, headed to Milwaukee last weekend to cheer on the 'Dawgs and even met up with lovable mascot Butler Blue 3.

We'll watch Twitter to see if they show up in Memphis, Tennessee, on Friday when the Bulldogs take on top-seeded North Carolina in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament's South Regional.

Keeping cool with 'The Roastmaster General'

Visiting Marco Andretti's social media accounts is like picking up People magazine. He sent snaps last weekend with comedian Jeff Ross, apparently taken just before Ross' show at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, near Andretti's home.

The good son

But Andretti wasn't too busy to remember his mother, Sandra Andretti, on her birthday and show us another priceless family photo.

Check out the checkered plates!

Happy birthday mom! @sandraandretti Glad you have taught me manners since then. πŸ˜‚ @marissaca31

So you want to be a race car driver?

Traveling is hard on all Verizon IndyCar Series competitors. But it's nice to see that sometimes it's not all private jets, five-star hotels and limousines.

After completing Tuesday's open test at Barber, the South Florida-based drivers found themselves trapped in the Charlotte airport due to storms delaying their connecting flight home.

At least Juan Pablo Montoya and Tony Kanaan had each other for company. Poor Carlos Munoz, who also found himself in the same accommodations, slept on the floor alone.

Since 8pm with @tkanaan waiting for our flight home. Not sure it's happening. 1.20am. Next flight 7am. Ouchhh

Update: They've made it home…

Maybe his name should be Yelio

Helio Castroneves can't get enough of the color yellow.

There's the yellow zoot suit he wore for his famed "Dancing with the Stars" routine. And there's the Pennzoil-sponsored Yellio Submarine that he's raced in the Indianapolis 500 of late.

So when he arrived in Charlotte for a recent photo shoot for Shell, what else would he find waiting for him...
